Galaxy Racer (GXR) is the largest ESports, gaming, and lifestyle organization in the world, with a market presence in the Middle East, North Africa (MENA), North America, Southeast Asia (SEA), South Asia, and Europe. In the fall of 2021, the UAE-based organization announced an investment in Pakistan’s ESports and gaming sector, entering “a new era of tech partnership” between Pakistan and the UAE.
The announcement was made after the Special Technology Zone Authority (STZA) granted the company permission to operate in Pakistan, where more than 65% of the population is youth. Galaxy Racer, one of Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Maktoum Private Office’s portfolio companies, made the announcement in conjunction with the beginning of Pakistan’s largest ESports event festival, “Gamers Galaxy,” which took place at the Pakistan-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad from January 8–9.
NGES having a reputation in the ESports industry was approached by Gamers Galaxy for executing this Grand Tournament in Islamabad. NGES was in charge of the management of all Pakistan ESports Tournament operations which includes the execution of Online Qualifiers and Broadcasting of the whole tournament.
President Alvi virtually attended the event while Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum inaugurated the festival. There was also a live concert by Shamoon Ismail towards the end of the event. The event also hosted major ESports athletes from across the country including the ESports player of the year, and EVO champion, Arslan Ash.
Ten Sports was the official media partner for the event and it was also covered by many other news channels and content creators. With the help of the new partnerships, Pakistan hopes to enter the $300 billion+ global gaming market. The government is eager to grow the sector, give young people a stage to showcase their talent at international gatherings, and help them turn their passion into a profession.
This was Pakistan’s biggest ESports tournament with a massive prize pool of 2 Crore PKR. Tournaments for five AAA titles Valorant, PUBG Mobile, Tekken, and FIFA 22, were hosted at the grand ESports fiesta. Each tournament had a different prize pool making up the total prize money of 2 Crore PKR.
