TCL, the world’s 25th-largest consumer electronics producer, holds an excellent reputation for its high-end consumer products, the most popular being its Smart LED TVs. TCL, with the launch of its latest Smart LED TV, apart from being capable of giving an exceptional Smart TV experience, is a sweet spot for gamers as well.
TCL, with the intent of making this launch special and amplifying its brand voice, decided to launch its new C-Series LED TVs with a national Esports tournament with a massive prize pool of PKR 1.5 million. TCL collaborated with NGES to organize Esports events in Karachi and Lahore.
To best showcase the potential of their new C-Series QLED TV with a ton of gaming features like 144 Hz VRR, HDR 10+, support for AMD FreeSync, HDMI 2.1 connectivity, and much more, TCL opted for a FIFA tournament on Playstation 5, featuring the latest title from the FIFA franchise, FIFA 23.
NGES made setup arrangements for the qualifiers of both cities, procuring consoles and other equipment necessary for the tournament. NGES also sent out its team to both qualifiers to cater to the participants and manage all the league operations for the tournament.
The first event took place in Karachi on the 12th and 13th of November at Lucky One Mall. The setup was grand, and more than 500 people signed up from Karachi. The arena was set up right at the mall’s center, grabbing everyone’s attention. FIFA enthusiasts went head-to-head against each other in nail-biting competitions.
Areeb Haider won the Karachi Qualifier securing a cash prize of 10,000 PKR and a TCL TV worth 40,000 PKR.
The first event took place in Lahore on the 18th and 19th of November at Packages Mall. Lahore was more than ready to welcome the Esports spirits to its most popular mall and actively participated in the Esports event. 600+ registrations were received for the tournament.
The audience attended the thrilling event in large numbers and was hooked to the exciting FIFA battles between participants on the exceptional TCL C-Series LED TVs. Famous Instagram influencer Tasmia Khan was also present at the event.
Muhammad Abdullah won the tournament, also receiving a cash prize of 10,000 PKR and a TCL TV worth 40,000 PKR.
Final
The top 12 players from the qualifiers of both cities then competed in the Finals on 20th November at Packages Mall, Lahore. The stage was set in a grand demeanor, and the elegant TCL LEDs added shimmer to the whole setup. Famous YouTuber Star Anonymous also attended the event to support the Esports initiative.
The finalists from Karachi had to fly out to Lahore for the final event, so NGES managed the travel and accommodation for all the players. NGES also performed the League operations, scoring, and matches at the Final event.
A total of 24 players were divided into four groups—three players from each city in each group. The players narrowed through Rounds 24, 16, and 8 to the finals, where Areeb Rehman from Karachi and Salman Haider from Lahore, the winner of Gamers Galaxy, engaged in a thrilling match.
Areeb Rehman won the Final 2-0, delivering an admirable performance, taking home 5 LACS PKR and a TCL LED worth 1.5 LACS PKR.
The whole launch with a football E-Gaming event turned out great, and the audience loved this collaboration of tech and Esports to showcase the flagship TCL LED TVs.
