Free Fire World Series 2022 | Sentosa

Introduction

Free Fire World Series is the highest-level ESports tournament in the Free Fire realm, which hosts Regional tournament winners from all around the world to compete for the title of World Champion. World Series is hosted biannually by Garena at different locations around the world. FFWS 2022 took place at Sentosa Islands in May.

Free Fire World Series (FFWS 2022)

Team House of Blood, the winner of Free Fire Pakistan League III, the highest-level ESports tournament in Pakistan, landed a spot in the play-ins for FFWS 2022. Faiq Ahmed, the Head of Media and Production at NGES, was officially invited to attend World Series as a representative from NGES and coordinate the media representation and photoshoots for Team House of Blood.

NGES was also in charge of broadcasting the event for the Pakistani viewership on Youtube and other social platforms and also organized the match screenings at multiple locations across Pakistan for the local fan base. A huge crowd from the gaming community showed up to support House of Blood.

Prize Pool

Free Fire World Series boasted a whopping 2 million USD prize pool. Each of the 18 teams who participated would take home a minimum of 40,000 USD and more if they landed a higher position on the Leaderboard and the winning team a fortune of 500,000 USD.

Conclusion

This was the first time a Pakistani team represented the country on an international platform, making it a breakthrough for the ESports ecosystem in Pakistan. Unfortunately, due to a lack of experience, the Pakistani ESports team couldn’t make it to the finals and got eliminated in the playoffs. The FFPL winner brought home a prize money of 8 million PKR.
